TSA Electronic Research and Experimentation 2006

Two Students designed and built a keyless entryprototype door using infrared remote control and servos to unlock and open a Lexan door. The door uses a SFR04 sonar ranging module to sense when a person is 20" from the front door (the range of the remote). The LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) reads out the ststus of the door as well as instructions on how to use the door. The students used a 16F84A microcontroller in the door and a 16F88 microcontroller in the remote. Their project placed first in their event at the Florida Technology Student Association conference and first at the National TSA conference in Dallas on June 25, 2006. Operation Video
